INTURSA celebrated the 2026 Chinese New Year: tradition, gratitude, and hospitality in the heart of San Isidro

Chinese New Year arrived in 2026 with a burst of color, music, and symbolism that lit up The Westin Lima and Popurrí. From early in the day, the festive energy could be felt in every corner, and at INTURSA – Hospitality Group, we experienced it from the front row.

The celebration began at The Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center, where the traditional lion dance and the majestic Chinese dragon marked the start of a day that brought together guests, strategic partners, business leaders, and friends from the community. The strength of the drums and the vibrant movement of the lions signaled a special welcome to the new year: a time of abundance, renewal, and good fortune.

A parade that united culture and emotion

After its kickoff at The Westin Lima, the parade moved along the entire Paseo Begonias promenade, joined by dozens of passersby who spontaneously became part of the celebration. Families, office workers heading out for lunch, and curious visitors allowed themselves to be swept up by this colorful tradition that, year after year, wins more hearts across the city.

The route concluded in Popurrí, INTURSA’s new culinary strip, where attendees enjoyed a festive and lively atmosphere. It was the perfect moment to reconnect, share, and toast to a new cycle beginning.

A tribute to cultural diversity and to our Asian guests

For INTURSA, this celebration goes beyond a holiday—it is an opportunity to honor the rich cultural heritage of the Chinese community and all our Asian guests, who play a vital role in the story we build each day.

During the gathering, our team shared some of the initiatives we are implementing across our hotel portfolio, specially designed to provide a more personalized, authentic, and culturally sensitive experience for Asian travelers. From tailored services—such as the new private lounge at The Westin Lima—to thoughtful details that reflect their culture, we aim to ensure every guest truly feels at home.

A global hospitality vision with a Peruvian heart

With the presence of group leaders, business partners, and industry representatives, the event was a reminder that hospitality transcends borders. In a context where Asian tourism continues to grow in importance in Peru, we reaffirm our commitment to a multicultural, respectful, and globally minded service—one that aligns with the needs of an increasingly diverse traveler.

Celebrating the 2026 Chinese New Year not only strengthened our connection with this key segment, but also allowed us to continue creating memorable, meaningful, and authentic experiences—those that bring together tradition, community, and purpose.

A new year to celebrate together

At INTURSA, we believe that every celebration is an invitation to share, learn, and grow. Today, we welcome the lunar new year with gratitude and enthusiasm, confident that continuing to create special moments is essential to who we are.

May the Year of the Horse find us with strength, light, and new paths to keep crafting inspiring experiences.
