In Peru, there is always an excuse to celebrate with music, parties, and good food. October is a month that recalls the most cherished traditions and marks the change of season in many of the country’s best restaurants and bars.

A Month to Celebrate

Halloween or Día de los Muertos is now an international holiday with a fun tradition in Peru. On the same day, the country also celebrates Día de la Canción Criolla (Peruvian Creole Music Day), which honors Creole and Afro-Peruvian culture through music, dance, and cuisine. At Intursa hotels, both holidays give rise to a series of activities full of togetherness and flavor.

Festive Spirit

There are several options for celebrating Halloween on October 31. If you are looking for something family-friendly, Market 770 restaurant at The Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center is organizing a Tea Time event where you can enjoy an afternoon of tea with the little ones of the family, with activities such as face painting, cookie decorating, and themed desserts, as well as a prize for the best costume. At the same hotel in San Isidro, if you want something more nighttime, El Salar celebrates the Día de los Muertos with a selection of themed cocktails and a live DJ.

At the Hotel Paracas, a Luxury Collection Resort, on Friday, October 31, there will be a costume contest for children and a Halloween party at Koni Camp, with activities such as a mummy contest, sensory boxes, and a candy station. In addition, on Saturday, November 1, there will be face painting and a trick-or-treating map throughout the hotel.

At Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Sacred Valley, children can enjoy Halloween at Beer Garden, with an afternoon of outdoor activities including inflatable games, face painting, and a specially designed children’s show. Later, at La Cervecería, there will be an evening of music, exquisite Peruvian cuisine, and a selection of craft beers.

Celebrating our Roots

Creole culture is more alive than ever in the country, and it is felt intensely in Intursa hotels. In Lima, the lobby of the Westin hotel is specially decorated for a Creole night, accompanied by Peruvian cocktails and snacks and the elegant rhythm of live music. At Insumo restaurant, on the rooftop of the AC Hotel Lima Miraflores, October 31 will feature a four-course tasting menu (including pisco sour or chilcano, two signature drinks), live Creole music, and an exceptional view of the Lima coastline. On the other hand, Aloft Lima Miraflores is also joining the party with a Creole Night at WXYZ bar, where you will find an exquisite selection of pisco-based cocktails and music to match.

The party doesn’t stop in the Peruvian capital and doesn’t end on October 31, but lasts all weekend. The Paracas Hotel, a Luxury Collection Resort, is organizing a remarkable Creole festival on Saturday, November 1. In the Bar Lounge, you can dance and sing along to a live show, enjoy exquisite cuisine and signature cocktails, so that no one misses out on experiencing a little bit of Peruvian tradition.
